Interactive/UX Design Case Study

Work Category: UX/UI

This app prototype was designed in Figma for one of my classes. The challenge was to create an app that solves a real problem experienced by either myself or someone I know. I talked to people at my church and a lot of of them expressed that they often felt excited and motivated when they first began, but over time found it difficult to stay consistent with the habits they wanted to build.

With that in mind, I designed an app focused on helping Christians stay encouraged and accountable in their daily walk of faith. The app allows users to set spiritual habits and receive reminders throughout the day. I also included a mentorship feature, giving users the opportunity to connect with someone also in the faith for encouragement and accountability.

In addition, the app includes a community prayer feature where users can request prayer and pray for others. My goal was to create a supportive and uplifting space, especially for youth and young adults, since that was the audience I found struggled with this issue the most.

I tested the prototype with several young adults and youth members from my church. Their feedback was incredibly positive, and many shared that they would genuinely use an app like this. I also gathered suggestions on features and improvements they would want to see and worked to incorporate as much of that feedback as possible into the design process.

Problem Statement

A lot of Christians (especially Christians who are newer to their faith) have a hard time keeping up good faith habits such as reading the bible, praying, worship, mentorship, ect. And in not being able to keep up these habits they slow down or even stop growing in their faith. This leads to people growing further from God and eventually losing their faith all together.

Target Audience:

  • Young Christians (between 18-25)
  • Christians who struggle to keep up with their habits
  • Christians growing in their faith.

My Role:

My role in this scenario was a UX designer. I came up with the idea for the app and designed it. My job was to also communicate with the target audience to receive feedback from them. I built the prototype and got it tested by our users so that our app is the best it could be.

Here is the final app prototype for you to test out.
