Work Category: Print

This project involved designing a magazine spread for the same fictional food truck brand I developed in class. The goal was to create a cohesive layout that aligned with the overall identity of the brand while effectively presenting key information.
I wanted this piece to feel connected to my previous work, so I incorporated visual elements from earlier projects. One example is the yellow line revealing donuts on the opposite side, which helps tie the spread back to the food truck wrap and strengthens the overall brand consistency.
The food truck’s slogan, “Spreading the little light of God everywhere we go!”, was an important element to include, so I made sure it was clearly featured within the design. After completing the first side of the spread, I designed the second side to include the logo, business name, and contact information, creating a balanced and informative layout.
One challenge I encountered was typography. Initially, I used a script font throughout the entire spread, which made the content difficult to read. After receiving feedback from classmates, I adjusted the typography by introducing a more readable font while still maintaining a fun and welcoming tone. This change significantly improved the clarity and effectiveness of the design.
Overall, this project helped me better understand the importance of consistency across multiple pieces and the role of typography in readability. It reflects my ability to apply feedback, refine my designs, and create a cohesive brand experience across different formats.
